Professor Andréa Lisly GonçalvesLattes

She is a full professor in the DEHIS at UFOP. She holds a BA in History from the Universidade Federal Minas Gerais (1982), an MA in Political Science from the Universidade Federal of Minas Gerais (1991), and a PhD in Social History from Universidade de São Paulo (2000). She performedpostdoctoral training at Universidade de São Paulo (2004), atthe Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas da UFMG (2010), atthe Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2011), andatthe Universidade de Lisboa (2017). She is a CNPq Productivity Scholar and of the ProgramaPesquisador Mineiro (PPM/FAPEMIG). She was coordinator of the SHA-FAPEMIG Chamber. She has experience in the field of History, with emphasis on the History of Imperial Brazil and Contemporary History, and works mainly on the following topics: manumissions, slavery, liberalism, counterrevolution and miguelism.

Professor Ângelo A. Carrara  – Lattes

He holds a BA in Historyfromthe Federal Universidade de Juiz de Fora (1984), an MA in Historyfrom Universidade Federal Fluminense (1993) and a PhD in Social Historyfrom Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1997). He held post-doctoral internships at Universidade Federal Fluminense (2002) and at Universidade de São Paulo (2011-2012). He was a professor at the DEHIS at UFOP from 1988 to 2004. He is currently an adjunct professor at Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora. He has experience in the field of History, with emphasis on Economic History, working mainly in research in the areas of economic history of Brazil, taxation, agrarian history, as well as in projects for the treatment of documentary collections.

Professor Anny Jackeline Torres Silveira  – Lattes

She holds a BA in History from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1990), an MA in History from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1995) and a PhD in History from Universidade Federal Fluminense (2004) with a post-doctoral fellowship at the Wellcome Unit for the History of Medicine- University of Oxford (2012-2013). She is currently an associate professor at UFOP and in the Programa de Pós-GraduaçãoemHistória at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. She has experience in History, with emphasis on History of Health Sciences, working mainly on the following topics: History of Health, History of Medicine, History of Belo Horizonte, History of the city and History of Brazil, Education.

Professor Cláudia Maria das G. ChavesLattes

She holds a BA in History from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1992), an MA in History from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1995), a PhD in History from the Fluminense Federal University (2001) and a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2009-10). In 2016 she held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Universidad del País Vasco under the guidance of Professor Carlos Garriga. She is currently Associate Professor IV and of the Programa de Pós-GraduaçãoemHistóriaat UFOP. She has experience in the area of History of Brazil (Colony and Empire in 18th and 19th centuries), working mainly on the following topics: Colonial and imperial economy and mercantile elites; Administration and Reforms in the Luso-Brazilian empire; Instruction and mercantile training; institutions and treasury justice.

Professor Francisco Eduardo AndradeLattes

He holds a master’s degree in History from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), a PhD in History from the University of São Paulo (USP), and post-doctoral studies at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS, France) and at the Université Paris Nanterre. He is an associate professor at UFOP, with several published works on Minas historiography and Brazilian History (mainly about Minas Gerais at the colonial period). His research, which converges on sociocultural History, addresses the following topics: historiography of Minas Gerais region; colonial frontier and territoriality (mining and agrarian practices); powers, religious institutions, and state administration in Portuguese America.

Professor Luísa Rauter PereiraLattes

Adjunct Professor at the Department of History at UFOP (area: History Theory and History of Historiography). She holds a post-doctoral degree in Sociology from New York University. Shealsoholds a PhD in Humanities: Political Science fromPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Sociologia e Ciência Política da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (formerly IUPERJ) withaninternshipatthe École Normale Supérièure, Lettres et SciencesHumaines in Lyon, France. She works in the areas of theory and philosophy of History and History of languages and political concepts in 19th-century Brazil. She has a master’s degree in Social History of Culture from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2004). She has a bachelor’s degree in History from Universidade Federal Fluminense (2001). She worked as a substitute teacher in the Theory and Methodology of History at the Departamento de História da Universidade Federal Fluminense in 2005 and 2007. She also worked as a substitute teacher at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia from 2010 to 2011. Sheis a memberofthe Núcleo de EstudosHistoriografia e Modernidade (NEHM) and oftheinternationalprojectIberconceptos: Proyecto y Red de Investigación en Historia Conceptual Comparada del Mundo Iberoamericano.

Professor Marcelo de Mello Rangel – Lattes

He is an adjunct professor in the DEHIS at UFOP (since 2013) and a permanent professor in the Graduate Programs in History (since 2013) and in Philosophy (since 2019) at UFOP. He holds an undergraduate degree in History (UERJ) and Philosophy (UFRJ). He also holds a master’s and a PhD in History (PUC-Rio) and a PhD in Philosophy (UFRJ). He held a postdoctoral internship at UFOP (2011-2013, with a PNPD/CAPES fellowship) and at Stanford (2017-2018, with a CAPES fellowship), where he was also a visiting scholar in 2014. He works with Theory of History and History of Historiography, Contemporary Philosophy, the relations between philosophy, literature and Brazilian thought, and the lecturing of History and Philosophy.

Line02 – Ideias, LanguagesandHistoriography

Professor André de Lemos FreixoLattes

The researcher holds a PhD in History (PPGHIS/UFRJ, 2012). He is an Adjunct Professor in DEHIS/UFOP and in the Postgraduate Program in History of the same institution, linked to the research line “Ideas, Languages and Historiography,” in which he works with the following areas of interest: History of Brazilian Historiography, History of Republican Brazil, Public History, Theory and Philosophy of History. The researcher was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Manchester (UK), where he developed post-doctoral internship research on ethics and public History under the supervision of Prof. Jerome de Groot (2019-2020).

Professor Bruno Tadeu Salles  – Lattes

Graduated in History from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2005). He holds a master’s degree (2008) and a PhD (2013) in Medieval History from the same institution. He is a professor of Medieval History at UFOP. He has experience in the area of History of Military and Religious Orders. Currently, he is developing research on the Templar commendations of Provence and their insertion/participation in the various expressions of the lordly balances in the 12th and 13th centuries. Professor Fábio Duarte JolyLattes

He holds a BA in History (1997), an MA in Economic History (2001), and a PhD in Economic History (2006), all from Universidade de São Paulo (2006), and a postdoctoral fellowship (2016) also from the Universidade de São Paulo. Currently he is an Associate Professor III of Ancient History at UFOP, and hisresearch focuses the economic and social history of Rome, with a special focus on slavery. He is active in the following research groups: Laboratory Group of Studies on the Roman Empire – UNESP/Franca (G.LEIR-UNESP/Franca); Subaltern groups and popular practices in Antiquity (USP), and LEIR (USP and UFOP)

Professor Fábio FaversaniLattes

He is Full Professor of Ancient History at UFOP and holds a BA in History (1989), and a MA (1995) and a PhD (2001) in Economic History all from Universidade de São Paulo. He held research internships at the Institute of Classical Studies Library, School of Advanced Studies, University of London; at the Bibliothèque Gernet-Glotz, École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and at the BereichsbibliothekAltertumswissenschaften, Ruprecht-Karls Universität Heidelberg. He was general secretary (2000-2001) and president (2014-2015) of the Sociedade Brasiliera de Estudos Clássicos –SBEC (Brazilian Society of Classical Studies). He was one of the founders (1999) and Coordinator (2007-2009) of theGT HistóriaAntiga da Associação Nacional de História (GTHA-ANPUH)(GT Ancient History of the National History Association). He was Pro-Rector of Extension (2005-2008) and Pro-Rector of Research and Graduate Studies (2015-2017) at UFOP. He works in Line 2 (Ideas, Languages and Historiography) of the Postgraduate Program in History at UFOP. He coordinates the Laboratory of Studies on the Roman Empire, LEIR-UFOP, in collaboration with Fábio Joly and Alexandre Agnolon and is deputy leader of LEIR-Nacional. He is a researcher at the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies (CECH), University of Coimbra, associate member of the Laboratory of Ancient History (LHIA), UFRJ, and researcher of G.LEIR-UNESP/Franca. Professor Mateus Henrique de Faria PereiraLattes

He is associate Professor at UFOP, where he teaches, in the undergraduate course, History of the Brazilian Republic. He is a member of the Núcleo de EstudosemHistória da Historiografia e Modernidade - NEHM (Center for Studies in the History of Historiography and Modernity). He earned a PhDin History from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2006), where he also graduated in History (1999). Professor Sérgio Ricardo da MataLattes

He is an associate professor of History at UFOP. He received his undergraduate degree (1990) and master’s degree (1996) in History from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. He received his PhD in History in 2002 from the University of Cologne, with a thesis that obtained the distinction ‘summa cum laude.’ In 2008 he worked as guest researcher at the Max Weber Institute for Social Science and Cultural Science Studies at the University of Erfurt. Between 2009 and 2010 he engaged in a post-doctoral internship at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences of Europe-Universität Viadrina (Frankfurt/Oder). In recent years he has been devoted to the study of Max Weber’s work and its intellectual context, historical knowledge and Intellectual History of Germany in the 19th-20th centuries and, to a lesser extent, the relationship between religion and modernity.

ProfessorValdei Lopes de AraújoLattes

He has a bachelor’sdegree (1995) and a master’sdegree (1998) in Historyfrom Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, and a PhDin Social Historyof Culture from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (2003), with a PDEE internshipat Stanford University. He is currently an associate professor at UFOP. He has experience in the field of History, with emphasis on the History of Historiography, working mainly on the following topics: History of Historiography, History of Concepts, Brazil as Empire, Political History and Theory of History. Coordinator of the Graduate Program in History at UFOP (2010-2012). He chaired the Commission for the evaluation of journals of the forum of coordinators of graduate programs of Anpuh-Capes. He was secretary General of SBTHH - Brazilian Society of Theory and History of Historiography (2010-2012). He is also a member of the editorial board of the journals “História da Historiografia” and “Almanack.” Member of the advisory board of several academic journals in the area ofHistory.

He holds a BA in History from UFOP (1996), an MA in History from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1999), a PhD in History from the UniversidadeEstadual de Campinas (2005), and post-doctoral studies at the Universidade de Lisboa (2008), Universidade de São Paulo (2009), and Universidad de Sevilla (2015). He is an Associate Professor at UFOP, teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs of History. Prof. Dr. Luciano Magela Roza (collaborator) - Lattes]

Luciano Magela Roza has a BA in History from the UFMG, MA and PhD in education from the same university. He has experience in the fields of History and Education, with emphasis on Teaching of History, Afro-Brazilian History, textbooks, and music in History teaching. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (UFOP) where he works in the Teaching of History and in the Postgraduate Program in History. He also served as a rater of textbooks at the PNLD Campo - 2013, assistant coordinator of the Ethnic-Racial Relations and Socio-environmental Sustainability themes in the evaluation process of books at the PNBE - Thematic 2013. He is also an Elementary and High School teacher , adjunct professor at UFVJM, coordinator of PIBID - History at UFVJM and professor with a CAPES-REUNI scholarship in the Intercultural Training Course for Indigenous Educators (FIEI) at FaE-UFMG. Professor Marcelo Santos de AbreuLattes

Professor at UFOP - Institute of Human and Social Sciences - Department of History. PhD in Social Historyfromthe Programa de Pós-Graduação em História Social da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2010). He has been teaching in the areas of Teaching of History and Theory or and Historiography since 2003. He is active in research on the History of regionalism, History of celebrations, culture of History and popularization of the past, History of teaching and Historiography. He held a postdoctoral internship at the Anthropology Program of the City University of New York (March 2018- March 2019) on slavery, intertwined memories and national histories: the AfroBrazil Museum and the Museum of African American History and Culture (2004-2017). Professor Marco Antonio SilveiraLattes

He holds a BA in History (1989), an MA (1994) and a PhD (2000) in Social History from the Universidade de São Paulo. He has held post-doctoral training at the Universidade de Lisboa (August 2004 to July 2005), at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (March 2011 to February 2012), and at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (October 2017 to March 2018). He carried out scientific mission at Cleveland State University (September 2007) and at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (January and February 2015). He is currently an associate professor at UFOP. He has experience in History, with emphasis on the History of Colonial Brazil (working mainly on the following topics: Minas Gerais, government, administration and justice), Historiography and History of Art. He was coordinator of the Historical Archive of the Mariana City Council (2007-2010). He is one of the leaders of the research group JALS.

He engaged in postdoctoral studies at the Universidad de La Frontera, Chile (2017). He has experience in the area of History of the Americas, working mainly on the following topics: Intellectual History, History of Intellectuals, History of the Southern Cone, History of Prints, Hispano-Americanism, Indo-Americanism, Latin-Americanism, Pan-Americanism, Historiography on indigenous peoples of Chile and Argentina, History and Images.

Professor Virgínia Albuquerque de C. BuarqueLattes

She holds a bachelor’s and Licentiate’s degrees (1989) in History at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where she earned her master’s degree (1994) and PhD (2005). She also engaged in a post-doctoral internship in religious sciences at Université Laval (2011-2012) and in theology at the Jesuit Faculty of Philosophy and Theology (2013-2015). She is a professor at UFOP since 2006, working in the Department of History until 2016 and currently is in the Department of Music. She integrates the Graduate Program in History of the same university as a collaborating researcher. She researches mainly on the following topics: Christianity History, Human Sciences, music and interdisciplinarity, Teaching of History (with emphasis on local memories). Regarding music, she participates in the research group “Echoes of the past, present sonorities” at UFOP’s Music Department. In the area of religious History, she participates in the research group Interfaces of anthropology in contemporary theology (FAJE) and is a member of Society of Theology and Religion Sciences (SOTER).
